Lot Essay
This watch is accompanied by a Vacheron Constantin King Kalla fitted presentation box fashioned in the style of Royal Red Marble and Certificate of Authenticity
The Kalla series consists of over 20 models, amongst them the Lord and Lady Kalla, the Count and Countess Kalla, Kalla Pagode and Kalla Rome. The largest of the watches in the Kalla series is the King Kalla which were produced during the late 80s and the early 90s.
The King Kalla is extremely rare. It is believed that fewer than 10 examples were ever made due to the difficulties in matching the number of top quality diamonds used, which is reflected in the high retail price.
Vacheron Constantin have stated, in Certificate of Authenticity No. 20163 dated 9 February 1990, that the present watch was produced with 160 diamonds in the bracelet and 32 diamonds in the dial with a total of 101.27 carats.
