JUDY GARLAND COSTUME FROM "THE HARVEY GIRLS"

A two-piece period costume worn by Judy Garland throughout the whole first part of the musical as she portrayed the innocent and naive Susan Bradley; made of light blue wool, the top portion is a fitted jacket with a white applique design on the lapel and lace around the collar; an interior label has a handwritten notation reading "1348 Judy Garland;" the interior silk lining is stamped "MGM Wardrobe;" a matching floor-length skirt has the same white applique design around the hem; an interior label has a handwritten notation reading "1348 Judy Garland;" the interior cotton lining is stamped "MGM Wardrobe" and has a handwritten notation of "MGM 9-S."
Please note this costume is now faded and discolored due to age but is still intact overall.
Provenance
This piece was originally sold in the now famous 'Star Wardrobe & Ladies Costumes' portion of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer auction which started on June 25, 1970; listed in the pink 'Star Wardrobe & Ladies Costumes' catalogue, Lot 210-S, Page 10; a photocopy of the original "David Weisz Co." lot tag is included as is the original pink 'Star Wardrobe & Ladies Costumes' catalogue.
