Lot Essay

LD: This has been used a little bit in the studio...we've had it between three and five years.

MF to EC: How long have you owned Dobros for?

EC: The first important one I had...was around 1970 ..around the time I met Duane Allman. Because his was the first one I ever saw, it came from GTR [GTR, Fourth Avenue, Nashville] ... So I went to GTR...they made a custom guitar for me and ...whenever I've seen a blonde wooden top Dobro...[since] that resembled my first one...I'd buy it because they're very rare...very, very unusual and usually they're very well made, and they sound good -- so I've collected them. I've had a couple.
MF: Great - 35 years of owning Dobros.

EC: Yes.
