The headstocks bearing the logos Robin and Robin/OCTAVE, the neck plates stamped 10738/Robin and 10437 respectively, the Stratocaster-style body in a two-tone sunburst finish, mounted with two necks and four single-coil pickups, the standard neck of maple with 21 frets, the octave neck of maple with 22 frets; and original case with adhesive tape inscribed Jimmie; accompanied by a typescript note, signed, from Jimmie Vaughan relating to this guitar (4)

Lot Essay

According to Jimmie Vaughan, this guitar was built by Robin Guitars specifically for him. He used it on various recording projects and whilst on tour with the Fabulous Thunderbirds from the mid-1980s until the band split in 1989 and afterwards during his solo career throughout the 1990s.

The note accompanying this guitar states: ...This guitar was made for me by Robin Guitars in Houston TX. I used this on several Thunderbird recording projects and toured with it for many years. This is the one that you see Stevie and I play together in several photographs and films. I'm gonna really miss this one, Yours Truly, Jimmie Vaughan
