Lot Essay

John Parish White (1855-1917), took over the Pyghtle Works in Bedford in 1896, producing an extensive range of garden ornaments in lead, marble, bronze, stone and terracotta. This figure still featured in White's 1935 catalogue. The firm ceased trading in 1960-61.
