Lot Essay

The artist, who is primarily known for his beach scenes and winter landscapes, also specialised in workshop scenes, of which the present lot is an example. Another signed weaver's shop by the artist, on panel, 33 x 41 cm., is in the Museum Bredius, The Hague, inv. no. 19-1946.

We are grateful to Mr. Fred Meijer of the RKD, The Hague, for the attribution to the artist, given on the basis of photographs.
