probably Augsburg, circa 1740
Rectangular casket with shaped corners, resting on four scrolling feet, the sides, base and obverse and reverse of the cover encrusted with hunting scenes in chased and engraved gold, the borders engraved and inlaid with gold scrolls, the interior with a removable mother-of-pearl compartment engraved on the base, containing two gold-mounted bottles for ink and salt set with gold-encrusted mother-of-pearl panels with engraved gold caps and another instrument
