Chancery 8° (133 x 92mm). Gothic type, woodcut printer's device, initial space with guide-letter on a3. (A few small wormholes at beginning and end affecting the text in a few leaves, light marginal dampstaining). 19th-century blindtooled goatskin over paper boards, with 'IHS' tooled in central medallion, gilt title on spine (rubbed, joints splitting). Provenance: early inscriptions on title page -- Armando del Colle? (17th-century inscription).
Reginaldetus was a French Franciscan friar and a renowned ascetic author. His major work, Speculum, was almost neglected until it was first published in 1492 by the Dominican Guilhermus Totani. HCR 13772; Polain(B) 3330; BMC VIII, 104; Goff R-90.
