SOUTH GERMAN OR NORTH ITALIAN, LATE 16TH CENTURY
On an integrally cast naturalistic base and a modern rectangular ebonised wood plinth; the top of the tree stump cast separately, which lifts to reveal an inkwell; the underside of the lid cast with a coat of arms; dark brown patina with some lighter high points
