etching and drypoint, 1875, on laid paper, the first state (of two), a trial proof before the regular edition, from the edition of unknown but presumably small size (the regular edition was 25), with wide margins, pale light-, mat and time staining, occasional pale foxing and minor surface soiling in the margins, a 1-in. curved tear at the upper right margin corner, a few shorter tears at the margin edges, a few layers of old hinge and tape remains at the reverse of the upper and right margin edges, foxing and mat staining on the reverse, otherwise in good condition, framed
