Lot Essay

The Association Alberto and Annette Giacometti has confirmed the authenticity of this work.

Mrs Mary Lisa Palmer, director of The Association Alberto and Annette Giacometti, further notes that Léna Leclercq, the author of Adieu la passerose, was a close friend of the artist and his wife. In 1961, Alberto Giacometti illustrated her book Pomme endormie with eight lithographs (Lust 128-147).

The repeated name 'Tazzoli' written on a page refers to Mario Tazzoli, the director of of Galleria Galatea, Tutin, where an Alberto Giacometti exhibition was held in December 1961.
