A brief communique asking about a battalion of cavalry commanded by Marechal Joachim Murat (1767-1815). In the blank margins, in typical fashion, Napoleon has hastily penned a detailed 15-line draft order (over 100 words) directing the organization of two battalions of the "Armee d'Observation du Midi," with details as to their command and duties.
