The small but choice library of the Irish politician and member of the Irish Parliament, which contained two Caxtons: Gower, Confessio Amantis, and Chaucer, The Book of Fame (£15.7.0 & £12.10.3), Wynkyn de Worde's edition of Higden's Polychronicon (£18.5.4.), other important incunabula; his First Folio of Shakespeare brought £30.14.3. This appears to have been the first important book sale held in Dublin. PRICED in a contemporary hand, ruled in red. Munby & Coral, p. 92.
