Nanbokucho period (14th century), attributed to Yamashiro Nobukuni
Sugata [configuration]: hirazukuri, mitsu-mune
Kitae [forging pattern]: itame with mokume, copious jinie
Hamon [tempering pattern]: notare, gunome midare of nie, sunagashi
Boshi [tip]: ko-maru with a long return
Horimono [carving]: a Buddhist ken on the omote, futatsu ji on the ura
Nakago [tang]: ubu, three holes with a kurijiri end; katte-sagari file marks
Habaki [collar]: double, gilt
In shirasaya [plain wood scabbard] inscribed with the attestation by Tanobe Michihiro to Yamashiro Nobukuni as the 49th Juyo token (Important Sword), 2004.9
Nagasa [length from tip to beginning of tang]: 28.2cm.
Motohaba [width at start of tempered edge]: 3.1cm
