An autograph book containing three of the earliest known Freddie Mercury signatures on three separate pages; one page signed in blue ink with his real name F Bulsara, the page additionally signed by the other members of Mercury's schoolboy band, The Hectics, the page adorned with a black and white photograph of the four musicians and annotated in an unknown hand with sketches of four musicians and the band name Hectics; another page dedicated in Mercury's hand To dear Bruce and inscribed You're someone mighty special/And so are these lines too/Because they're sincerely wishing/A special wife for you/With Best of Luck/your friend forever, signed Farookh Bulsara, dated 25th July '62, additionally annotated in Mercury's hand with the name of his band "HECTICS" and a black and white photograph of a young Mercury; the inside cover of the book signed and inscribed Dear Bruce, Wishing you all the best in the future, Yours sincerely, F Bulsara

Lot Essay

Freddie Mercury was born Farookh Bulsara on 5th September, 1945. He attended an English boarding school, St. Peter's, in Panchgani near Bombay, India. It was whilst at this school that he started being called Freddie, and started his first band, The Hectics.
