Signed John Moncrief, London, No. 226, circa 1700
The gilt-finished verge movement with finely engraved foliage decorated back plate, chain fusée, worm set-up underneath the dial plate, pierced Egyptian pillars, the gilt dial with finely chased and engraved floral and foliage decoration, small hour dial with blackened Roman numerals, outer Arabic five minute divisions, blued steel beetle and poker hands, aperture for the regulator and glazed fan-shaped aperture revealing the mock pendulum and steel two-arm balance, in plain inner case with split bezel and seven-piece hinge, plain outer case, dial and movement signed
