Details
c.1962 TROJAN 200 THREE WHEELER

Registration No. 604 UKP
Chassis No. TBA
Pale blue with grey roof and green interior.

Engine: single cylinder, four stroke, 198cc; Gearbox: four speed manual; Suspension: swing arms and coil spring; Brakes: front, hydraulic, rear, hand cable only. Right hand drive.

The Trojan Car Company first started manufacturing cars in 1922 with their extremely unconventional two stroke rear-engined tourer which earned a solid following among customers who did not require speed or aesthetics. Slightly bizarrely the car was legendary for its hill-climbing ability resulting from its low -speed pulling power. The company re-emerged in 1962 when they began manufacturing the 200 under licence from Heinkel. Clearly influenced by the Isetta, Heinkel's design was prettier, lighter, and cheaper, and it enjoyed particular popularity in Britain where Trojan's model enjoyed a much longer production run than its parent model.

This example holds the potential to be a complete and original basis for restoration, retaining its original engine and interior. Its pale blue paintwork is in reasonably good condition, and does not show signs of any major corrosion; the green upholstery, while tired, is in good restorable condition. It is sold without documentation.
Special notice
This lot is offered without reserve. No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium, which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
