A Regency mahogany large drop dial wall clock
Matthew Dutton & Son, London. Circa 1810
The 14 in. diameter dial signed Mattw. Dutton & Son London within the Roman chapter ring with blued steel spade hands, the movement with rectangular brass plates, four baluster pillars and half deadbeat escapement, single wire fusee, the pendlum with substantial brass-cased bob and black painted iron rod, the case with finely turned convex mahogany moulding around the dial with flat glazed cast brass bezel with lock to the left side, the panelled trunk with curved ears and moulded drop door, doors to both sides with later mouldings
