Lot Essay

The study of a putto is similar to those in the Tomkins album, sold in these Rooms, 18 March 1975, lot 28. The study of a blasted tree is remarkably similar, in reverse, to that in De V. 743, the first of the Six paysages et ports de mer, dans des rondes.
