A Bronze Figure of Sadakshari Avalokiteshvara
Western Tibet, 14th Century
Seated in dhyanasana, his hands joined in anjali mudra in front of his chest, the other arms raised to the shoulder holding a mala and a lotus, wearing a diaphanous dhoti, jewelry with silver and copper inlay, armbands, bracelets, earrings and five-leaf crown, the face inlaid with silver eyes and copper lips, his hair in a high jatamukuta centered with the figure of Amitabha and topped by an elaborate foliate finial, the crown inlaid with copper and silver in a diamond pattern, with strands falling on his shoulders, some polychromy still intact and traces of cold gilding remaining on the face
