Lot Essay

Initially his interests lay in architecture, then painting. His studies were pursued in Nuremberg and then Munich with Piloty.He then moved to Italy. Later he worked with Oswald Achenbach in Dusseldorf. He gained his greatest success with genre painting, and is exhibited in the Museum of Berne.
