A Flemish silver-mounted tortoiseshell casket
POSSIBLE ANTWERP, CIRCA 1680 (hinges are later)
Rectangular, on four silver lion supports, the silver corners embossed with flowers, similar decorated shaped mounts around the lock, the silver hinged and domed cover with a silver plaque chased and embossed with a coat-of-arms, fitted with a shaped swing handle, the interior lined with a trompe l'oeil painted garden landscape and set with mirrors to three sides
