Lot Essay

Kleima was a member of the Ploeg from 1926 until 1950. He is known for his landscapes of the province of Groningen. In 1982 the Groninger museum organised a solo exhibition with Kleima's work. Around 1940 Kleima executed several paintings of the church of Breede (see: exh.cat. Ekke Kleima, Groninger Museum, 1982, cat.no. 27).
