A FINE WHITE JADE 'HEHE ERXIAN' PENDANT
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

The circular pendant finely carved from a semi-translucent even white stone to depict the Hehe twins in loose flowing robes, one with a lotus sprig, the other with a box, the reverse with full lotus flowers and leaves above a lotus root
2 1/2 in. (6 cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

The Twin Genii of Harmony and Mirth, represented with a box and lotus, are auspicious symbols for marriage.
