a large teddy bear with blonde mohair, black boot button eyes with brown felt discs behind, pronounced clipped muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, felt lined ears, swivel head, heavily stuffed body, jointed elongated limbs with felt pads and hump, circa 1910 --28in. (feet pads recovered, slight general wear, top of one leg seam open and some fading); and a Farnell monkey (felt areas replaced with burlap) (2)

Provenance
Eileen Alice Soper, 1905-1990 was a famous wildlife artist based in the Welwyn, Hertfordshire. She exhibited at the Royal Academy, a water colour portrait of Eileen aged 8 painted by her father, features a similar looking bear.
This bear was purchased from a local auction in the early 1990s when Eileen's estate was sold.
