Lot Essay

We are grateful to Dr. Dario Succi for confirming the attribution on the basis of a transparency. Dr. Succi dates the painting to the end of the 1780s, and describes it as an 'opera deliziosa della piena maturità stilistica di Francesco Guardi.'
