A Gilt Copper Garuda Finial
Nepal, circa 16th century
Finely cast in a perched position with arms and wings outstretched, with curling feathers around the chest and armlets of snakes, his face with a benign expression flanked by large round earrings, his hair gathered in a domed topknot and secured with a coiled snake hairband, backed by a two-tiered openwork aureole of scrollwork
