Lot Essay

In addition to his deft handling of oil paints, Mancini was also recognized as an accomplished draughtsman. As any work on paper is capable of displaying an immediacy, so the expression on the face of the laughing girl in the present work shows how the artist has succeeded in capturing and communicating a fleeting moment in time on paper.
