A CIRCASSIAN MIQUELET-LOCK PISTOL
Mid-19th Century
With tapering barrel formed with a low ridge and entirely covered with silver decorated with a nielloed arabesque pattern over its full surface, iron back-strap also covered with nielloed silver and incorporating a brief inscription, iron lock struck with maker's mark on the bridle and decorated with gold koftgari scrollwork throughout, wooden full stock entirely encased in leather and overlaid with shaped nielloed silver plaques at the rear, the pommel, barrel-bands and fore-end cap each of silver decorated with a matching interlaced pattern of niello flowers, iron button trigger, and no provision for ramrod.
