Lot Essay

Alan Gard became one of London's respected craftsmen-jewellers of the 1960s, having worked for the leading and jeweller of the time, Andrew Grima. It is no surprise, given the noticeable patronage within the collection of such well known jewellers as Andrew Grima and John Donald, that Princess Margaret should also appreciate the creative work of Alan Gard.
