The Venetian Lagoon with the Torre di Marghera

On the basis of a transparency Dott. Dario Succi confirms the attribution of the present lot to Francesco Guardi and dates it to circa 1780. He compares it to Guardi's painting of the same tower in the National Gallery, London, Inv. no. 2524 (see A. Morassi, Guardi, 1973, I, pp. 433-4, no. 664; II, fig. 620).
