The central cabochon sapphire pushpiece with reeded leaf setting to the guilloché cream enamel top decorated with two colour bows and laurels and the sides with laurel festoons, circa 1885, 4.5 cm. wide, with Russian assay marks for gold

Lot Essay

Born in Tampere on 6th May 1863, Johann Viktor Aarne worked for Fabergé between 1880 and 1890, with his specialities being in picture frames and bellpushes. In his final year with Fabergé, he qualified as a master and thereafter continued his trade as a goldsmith for the next thirty years.
