Tarocchini of Bologna, circa 1850, Bologna, Gaetano Provasi, 62 of 62 cards, woodblock printed and stencil colored, wrap around paper edges, ace of coins contains a bearded antique bust facing to the right, possibly representing an Italian or Bolognese tax stamp. Trumps and court cards are double-ended without card titles, Italian suits, square corners, the first four unnumbered trump cards depict figures similar to Moors and straps, the next cards are numbered in Arabic 5 (Love) to 16 (Star), followed by the remaining five unnumbered trump cards, the 6 of coins reads, G. P. FABBRICA DI CAR..., DA GIUOCO DI GAFTANO PROVASI ALLA FORTUNA IN BOLOGNA. Backs are a wood block printed ornamental panel with double-ended word: FORTUNA. Size 4 7/16 in. (11 cm.) high, 2 in.
