AN ILLUSTRATED MINIATURE BOOK WITH FAUX-BOOK BOX

35 x 38 mm and 160 x 100 mm, respectively. The book with octagonal-shaped leaves of handmade paper with handwritten text and 15 miniature paintings depicting scenes with Hindu gods, bound on one side between red-and-silver-brocade-covered boards of same shape. With a box that is a faux book entitled Histoire de la Comtesse de Gondez. One leaf in the minature book is loose, the text and paintings are in good condition. The faux-book box with detached front cover and the surface and spine with scratches and losses in the leather.
