India, 19th century

235 x 420 mm. The wooden covers centerd with scenes of generic architecture, the front cover on convex medallion, both surrounded by densely painted red, white, black and gold floral and vine scrolls. The front with further metal decoration in corners, the back with four small metal feet to protect the surface when laid down. The interior surfaces painted with multicolored floral scroll motifs on a vibrant red background. Bound to black pages with onion-skin separators with a simple tassel closure. Overall in good condition.
