PALM-LEAF MANUSCRIPT WRAPPED IN EMBROIDERED FABRIC AND HOUSED IN A WOODEN CASKET

570x 55 mm. The Pali text inscribed and inked on recto and verso of 33 palm leaves, with areas reserved for binding holes, the edges gilded and painted in red, the velvet fabric embroidered with sequins of different metals and edged in thin gilt metal ribbon, the wooden casket with four legs and glass panels on the sides and cover, painted and red and inscribed with gilt asterisks. Overall in good condition, with a burned hole in the fabric and nicks and scratches to the wooden box.
