Lot Essay

A doctor's son from Chester, Lionel Edwards was one of 20th century England's finest and most successful sporting artists. A dedicated hunting man and legendary horseman, his passion for the hunting field gave him the ability to portray so successfully the rhythm and momentum of the chase. He attended the Kadir Cup in 1923.
