An unusual Victorian carved mahogany mantel clock with world time, calendar and moonphase
Circa 1860
The cream painted dial with eccentric Roman chapter ring with blued steel hands and sweep seconds, the world time dial below with central twice XII disc rotating against 48 different countries and cities around the world including Utah, Mackenzie River, Russian America, Petropavlosk, Jedo, Lassa, Ava, Kars, Crimea, Kabool, as well as most of the main cities and capitals, register mark below Registered Dec. 2nd. 1856, the flanking calendrical dials for the month and date with rotating moon, the movement with brass plates tapering to the base and with wire fusee and spring barrel, the pinwheel escapement mounted on the backplate
