A waterline model of the S.S. Scythia of the Cunard Line
circa 1900
the hull of the model carved from wood and painted with black topsides, wood decks in mahogany, and fitted with anchors, anchor davits, ventilators, deck railings, masts rigged with standing and running rigging and cross spars with furled sails, deck houses, life boats on davits, funnel painted in Cunard livery, and other details. Mounted in a sea carved from wood and painted blue and displayed in a glass and mahogany case with baluster turned columns.
