LATE MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The thick-walled, faceted vessel with cylindrical interior and tapering slightly from the flat rim to above four ruyi-head feet, with separately made inset circular base, the grey-green stone with opaque buff and pale russet inclusions, with pewter liner; with a turquoise and coral-inlaid pierced metal cover decorated with panels of mythical sea creatures and surmounted by a lapis lazuli globular finial
