A CARVED RED LACQUER PEACH-FORM BOX AND COVER

The domed cover carved with Xiwangmu standing holding a peach beside a phoenix in a landscape setting surrounded by a border of bats and a dense ground of fruiting and flowering branches including peaches, pomegranates and finger citron, the latter decoration repeated on the sides of the box; together with a carved red lacquer bowl, 17th century, the exterior carved with birds perched in fruiting pomegranate branches between petal and key-fret borders
