Lot Essay

The elemental cube shape of the Borg ships was originally suggested by writer Maurice Hurley, who introduced the Borg in "Q, Who?" in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Counterpointing the visual simplicity of the platonic form was a bewildering layered laticework of mechanical detail. This version of the Borg cube was made for Star Trek: First Contact and was even more finely detailed than the original ship from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
