Lot Essay

Quark believed - apparently correctly - that the scantily-clad Dabo girls at his bar caused patrons to gamble much larger amounts, resulting in much greater profits for him. The Dabo girl costumes were the handiwork of Robert Blackman. The fifth piece in this collection was a not-so-subtle form of rebellion against an old network dictate, dating back to the original Star Trek, that forbade showing the underside of a woman's breasts. This costume covered nearly all of the actress wearing it, except for her midriff and the underside of her breasts.
