Four simulated oil paintings and one acrylic painting, two images depict a blacksmith at work, one a glowing hand, apparently forged by the blacksmith, one bird's wing, and one shows the Enterprise-D corridor, largest -- 24x36in. -- created in the Star Trek art department for "Birthright" in Star Trek: The Next Generation, where Data painted the works during a period of self-discovery, some subsequently used as set dressing in Data's quarters in Star Trek: Nemesis (5)

Lot Essay

Another of Data's explorations of humanity was his painting. He learned to paint during the first season of Star Trek: The Next Generation. These paintings represent Data's work in "Birthright," where he used them as a tool for self-discovery. Each of these images represents a different aspect of Data's personality.
