OSCILLATION OVERTHRUSTER REPLICAS
Two solid cast resin props -- 3¼in. -- each a replica of the "oscillation overthruster" featured in The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai: Across the Eighth Dimension, these replicas are believed to have been made for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and were used as props and set dressing in a number of episodes, they were also used as set dressing in the mining control room in "Demons" in Star Trek: Enterprise and "Terra Prime" in Star Trek: Enterprise, in which Peter Weller (who played the title role of Buckarooo Banzai), appeared as a guest star (2)

Lot Essay

"Overthruster" replicas turned up as a variety of props and gizmos on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Enterprise. One might suspect that someone on the show was a Buckaroo Banzai fan, but mainly, the show's prop masters liked the cool, unfamiliar shape of the device.
