Lot Essay

Gene Roddenberry once described James Kirk as a man who works hard, but also "plays hard, almost compusively so." There are few better examples of this character trait than Star Trek V, in which Kirk climbed El Capitan, and Star Trek Generations, in which Kirk indulged in orbital skydiving in a scene that was cut from the final version of the film.
