WEST PERSIA, CIRCA 1910

Another version of this design shows a similarly dressed lady accompanied by her dog, (Ian Bennett, "Carpets of the Khans, part 1", Hali, 43, February 1989, pl. 3). A highly unusual example with a combination of three Perisan ladies, one with a lyre, one with her dog and one carrying a basket of flowers is illustrated in Bennett, op cit., pl.20. A very similar example to the present lot was sold in these Rooms, 13 April 2000, lot 105.
