Each with a square seat with 18th century silk gros and petit point embroidery, probably the original covers, with a central foliate spray flanked by pheasants and doves, above the shaped apron with a central scallop-shell flanked by foliate scrolls, on cabriole legs headed by scallop-shells and terminating in scroll-feet with palmette motif, the underside numbered in pencil '7190', probably regilt

Lot Essay

A stool with identical scallop-shell flanked by foliage to the seat-rail and the legs headed by a similar palmette and husk-trails from the collection of 'La Princesse de X.', was sold Sotheby Parke Bernet, Monaco, 24 25 June 1984, lot 3211.
