A ROMAN POTTERY OIL LAMP
CIRCA 1ST CENTURY A.D.
The disc decorated in relief with the figure of a bare-chested Celtic warrior on horseback, carrying sword and shield, with hair flying, with volute nozzle, the underside with impressed footprint mark, 4 in. (10 cm.) long; another with 12-petalled rosette on the disc, 1st Century A.D., 5 in. (12.5 cm.) long; a North African early Christian red ware lamp with figure of a running lion, rim with pattern of stylized leaves and flowers, tongue handle and incised concentric circles on base, 5¾ in. (14.5 cm.) long; and another with Chi-Rho monogram with concentric circle pattern below, rim with border of concentric circles and four-petalled rosette, tongue handle, 5½ in. (14 cm.) long, both circa 4th Century A.D. (4)
