Lot Essay
Salaman studied at the Slade School of Fine Art and at the Ruskin School of Art 1928-31 where he met Barnett Freedman (see lots 145-146). Between 1933 and 1939 he lived in France and worked at the Académie Ranson and La Grande Chaumiére. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Leicester Galleries, and taught at Camberwell, Chelsea and the RA Schools.
